Maimuța se uită la mine, ascultă ironic,
pare-a fi ațipit cealaltă –
și, când după întrebare se lasă tăcerea,
zice ceva
zdrăngănind ușurel din lanț.

This is what my big final dream looks like:
two monkeys chained in a window,
the sky flies outside the window
and the sea is bathing.

reportI on people’s stories.
I stutter and wade.

The monkey, staring at me, listens ironically,
the second is asleep –
and when there is silence after the question,
prompts me
quiet chain clinking.

Tak wygląda mój wielki maturalny sen:
siedzą w oknie dwie małpy przykute łańcuchem,
za oknem fruwa niebo
i kąpie się morze.

Zdaję z historii ludzi.
Jąkam się i brnę.

Małpa, wpatrzona we mnie, ironicznie słucha,
druga niby to drzemie –
a kiedy po pytaniu nastaje milczenie,
podpowiada mi
cichym brząkaniem łańcucha.
